There is important work being done in our community to address health and wellbeing, but we should be asking ourselves what more we can do to ensure that people don't fall through the cracks.
Guelph is undergoing significant development and it is important that we manage this growth in a sustainable way. We need to invest in various types of infrastructure to meet this growth.
We need to advocate the inclusion of more affordable units in new development, explore alternative living solutions such as cooperative housing, and support medium density infill and accessory housing units.
We are living in a climate emergency, and everything that is related to growth should be looked at with that lens. Cities have integral role to play in driving and adopting more sustainable practices.
The most important part of being a city councillor is listening to the concerns and perspectives of residents.
It takes a village. My job as city councillor is to surround myself with as many experts as possible to make informed decisions.
It's our role as a city council to set out and follow through with plans that are aligned with the values of residents.
